Philadelphia & Vicinity Club Management Association

FAQ

imgAm I eligible to become a member of CMAA and PVCMA?
To be eligible for membership in CMAA, a person must be connected with the management of clubs. Every CMAA member must simultaneously belong to a local chapter, such as PVCMA, based upon the location of the club manager’s place of employment.

May I become a member of CMAA without becoming a member of a local chapter, such as PVCMA?
No. Membership in CMAA and your local chapter is dual and simultaneous.

How do I know if my club is located within the Philadelphia and Vicinity Chapter of CMAA?
In general, the Philadelphia and Vicinity chapter encompasses the Philadelphia metropolitan area in Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey, as well as the entire state of Delaware. If you are unsure if your club is within these boundaries, please submit an inquiry with your club’s address to CMAA at Membership Inquiry. Local chapter membership is based on your place of employment, not your home address.

How do I apply to become a member of CMAA and PVCMA?

Where do I send my completed CMAA/PVCMA application?
All CMAA membership applications are to be sent to the local chapter in which your club resides. Once you have determined that your club is located within the Philadelphia and Vicinity Chapter, please mail your completed application, along with two dues checks (one payable to CMAA and one payable to PVCMA) to the following address:

PVCMA
P.O. Box 226
Bryn Mawr, PA 19010

What should I expect once I submit my application?
Upon receipt, PVCMA will process your application and local dues payment. A copy of your application and your payment of national dues will be forwarded to CMAA. Both organizations will then send you letters of welcome by email. If you do not receive a letter of welcome or email communication within fourteen days of mailing your application, please contact PVCMA’s Managing Director at (203) 61-PVCMA.

I am already a member of CMAA, as well as another chapter, but I have recently obtained a new position within the boundaries of the Philadelphia and Vicinity Chapter. How do I transfer my membership?
When a CMAA member transfers to a new position within the boundaries of PVCMA, they must submit a Chapter Transfer Request Form. Please mail the completed form to the following address:

PVCMA
P.O. Box 226
Bryn Mawr, PA 19010

I am already a member of PVCMA but I have recently obtained a new position outside of the boundaries of the Philadelphia and Vicinity Chapter. How do I transfer my membership?
When a PVCMA member transfers to a new position outside of the boundaries of the Philadelphia and Vicinity chapter, they must complete and submit a Chapter Transfer Request Form to the Managing Director of their new chapter. Please send an inquiry to CMAA at [email protected] to determine the chapter to which your membership will be assigned.

What if I am already a CMAA member within another chapter but I am interested in attending events in the Philadelphia area?
Club professionals who are members of other chapters are welcome to join PVCMA as “Friends of the Chapter” and enjoy many of the benefits of being members of our chapter, including reduced rates for events and communications about local chapter activities. If you are interested in becoming involved in this way, please click on Request Member Information, complete the form and indicate your interest in becoming a friend.

Club managers who simply wish to attend events on occasion may register and pay the non-member price, typically a $10 surcharge per event.

I am a vendor serving the club business and am not eligible to become a member. Are there opportunities for me to connect with PVCMA members?
Vendors serving the club business are not eligible to become members but may participate in some PVCMA activities. For more information, or to be added to our vendor contact list, please click on Request Information, complete the form and indicate your interest in vendor relations.
